BANDANAS AND BUDDIES

This week is Bandana week!Emelia and George have shown their courtesy to people with cancer by wearing canteen bandanas.
Also today we enjoyed seeing our buddy class Room 10 and listening to them read to us.It helps their reading skills and makes them happy if we bring their favourite book.Today we met outside on the front court and went to find our buddies. After we found our buddies, we found a place to sit and read on the front court. In one ophoto you can see Mathew Emms and Matthew Blain reading together. In the other photo, you can see Cian and his Room 10 buddy Jack Kelliher and Alex with his Room 10 buddy Max. And guess who else, the wonderful teachers Ms McKednry and Mrs Trolove.
Today's blog entry has been brought to you by the awesome Nadia McGeachen and the brilliant Brie Gullery.

OKTOBERFEST TODAY

Today Room 5 did work about Oktoberfest. We had to write a short paragragh of explaining what it was all about. Then we had to make a copy of the German flag with all of colours of the flag. We had to find Germany on the map and colour it, and we could colour all of the map too. We found out the English meanings of German words and wrote them beside them. We did it in pairs and some people in the pairs did one thing and the other person did another. Next week we will finish it off and stick our work on a big bit of carboard, and some people have already started that. When we are finished you might want to come and see our cool German work in Room 5 at West Melton School

WE ARE THE HIGHWAY MEN!!!!

The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees,
The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas,
The road was a ribbon of moon-light over the purple moor,
And the Highway man came riding-riding-Riding-
The highwayman came riding,
Up to the old inn-door.
We have been learning about the highwaymen, we have learnt some of the poem!(which is in the picture above). The highwayman is a great poem for us to learn! Because it is quite famous and a well known poem! We are also doing it for handwriting, as you can see from the picture of James Cider doing his handwriting. There is also a song called:Stand and deliver by the famous group Adam And The Ants. now we are about to do buddy reading with room 10 so check out their blog too
